How wonderful for Steve. His music ability is a demonstrated talent, so his academic performance is not unexpected and shows another valued quality of his. My congrats to him and his family.
Both he and Alex are inductees this year. Makes their Grandpappy very proud.
Love and kisses Dad

I agree Pete: sometimes the best thing we can do as reviewers is to help the author get out from under the weight of their own knowledge and help them conenct to the interested reader who lacks that same depth but who wants to engage

I have to write technical reviews of professional papers for publication. I take the voice of considering the needs of the reader. Please make the paper clearer to your reader. Make clear conclusions that are useful to the reader. If your paper meets the needs of the reader it shall be widely read.

KL:
In full agreement. Separating one's work from self on both sides of equation is one of the toughest challenges. The fact that you post this essay make us all better readers.

I did find what I think are a couple of errors in the above content - one reference to different philosophical worldviews should (I think) be Creswell p.22 and not page 5 as mentioned. Also Creswell lists postpositivism as one of the world views (not post-postpositivism p22). I have and use Cresswell and also use Tashakorri and Teddlie (2009) "Foundations of Mixed Methods Research" profitably. In the later book I notice that the term "concurrent" appears to have been replaced with the word "parallel" to describe studies which run qualitative and quantitative data gathering and processing activities at the same time.

I like this article!

On Federalism and industry: I suspect that the latest compromise regarding state banking regulation points to the influence of large corporations on the Congress as a culprit in the on-going eclipse of federalism. I have just posted on this, in case you are interested.

We are a not-for-profit educational organization, founded by Mortimer Adler and we have recently made an exciting discovery--three years after writing the wonderfully expanded third edition of How to Read a Book, Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren made a series of thirteen 14-minute videos, lively discussing the art of reading. The videos were produced by Encyclopaedia Britannica. For reasons unknown, sometime after their original publication, these videos were lost.

Three hours with Mortimer Adler on one DVD. A must for libraries and classroom teaching the art of reading.

I cannot over exaggerate how instructive these programs are--we are so sure that you will agree, if you are not completely satisfied, we will refund your donation.

Please go here to see a clip and learn more:

I can't think of any one I have read lately that has caught the spirit of comradship and leadership. I also served in VietNam during the Tet 68 offense at Da-Nang with Mobile Construction Battalion Nine. We lost 4 men and took numerouse hits up north at Phu Loc at a detachment with rockets for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Needless to say, your speach brought back tons of memories of sights, smells and yeah, ham and lima beans. Many thanks General for your beautiful trip down memory lane --- experiences gone but never forgotten because we just did it.

I have a grandson in his second year at West Point. Has his jump wings and wants to be a Ranger. Pray for him ..I am.
